The Miller Group was awarded the Administration Building Renovation at Norfolk Botanical Garden following a successful competitive bid. The 8,500 sq ft building was originally constructed in the 1960’s with several updates and changes made throughout the years. This, however, is the first full renovation of the building which includes all new plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems, new finishes throughout, and a new roof. The renovation plans were drafted by local design firm Hanbury Architects.
A large section of an adjacent retaining wall was also replaced in order to provide additional stability to the building. The Auditorium Wing has been restored to its original layout so that it can again host events, complete with a caterer’s galley. Many of the buildings original features have been restored and preserved while subtle modern updates and new millwork highlight the project. Other improvements include a new entrance and two new parking lots.
